  Special Bethelite Speakers

  i've noticed that some elders will insist on getting a special bethel speaker for memorials, special talks, or sometimes for no reason at all!

  i believe they are trying build connections they can use later, but who pays for it?

  the congregation does and as a former account servant i can tell you airfare isn't all that cheap.

  Not only does the Cong pay for his expenses, but also some brown-noser will also always make a money collection between a selected few. Has happened every single time one of these stooges visits either our Cong or an assembly hall.

  Daily Text July 21, 2017: Jehovah is a loving father?

  is jehovah really a loving and compassionate "father" to his children?

  as a jw i would have definitely answered "yes", followed by the typical "he allows suffering, but doesn't cause it", or perhaps the "he has created us to enjoy life and wants us to be happy" mumbo jumbo.

  He engineered our problems by throwing Satan and his demons here on earth, according to his book, then has the audacity to demand that we 'imitate' Him, that we shall be 'holy' as Him, etc. What a holy jerk!

  Like a song goes: Created us sick, but commands us to be well.

  Loving father? Countless evidence to the contrary.😔

  i'm currently in a jehovah's witnesses household, which is very deep into the "truth".

  i woke up a few months ago, and i haven't told my parents yet.

  Going out in service.

  i loved going out in service, i would empty my book bag out on the counter at the laundromat, walk out and go get a doughnut, i had a lot of hours and placements on my time card.

  i really hated talking to people, the anxiety was too much for me to handle, good thing my service partner felt the same way..

  i'm honestly in awe about this particular scripture (and honestly i can't keep thanking jwfacts enough for providing biblical contradictions to the jw doctrine!).

  "john said to him: "teacher, we saw a certain man expelling demons by the use of your name and we tried to prevent him, because he was not accompanying us.

  " but jesus said: "do not try to prevent him, for there is no one that will do a powerful work on the basis of my name that will quickly be able to revile me; for he that is not against us is for us.

  That text means to me that there is NO such thing as an 'exclusive' religious group that is approved by God.

  The man Job wasn't of the chosen Israelis, Cornelious wasn't even a baptized Christian and he received Holy Spirit. There are people that serve and please God in every org.

  Moderate/progressive JWs have always known this.

  july 17, 2017 the supreme court of russia has missed the last chance to restore law and justice for the 175,000 russian citizens professing the religion of jehovah's witnesses.

  it took less than an hour of the meeting a panel of three supreme court judges, to leave unchanged the decision taken earlier by the judge yuri ivanenko, the liquidation and ban any and all registered organizations of the religion.since there is no more effective domestic remedies, the believers will appeal to the european court of human rights and other international organizations.. *note: as reported by the jworg source, jw-russia.org.

  This happened before, then with administration changes liberty came. It's just a matter of time and patience.

  Help/Advice on Birthday Present

  i have a very xjw type problem, i am invited to my cousin's 70th birthday party, and really don't know what to buy him.. i only met him a couple of months ago, as my jw parents never encouraged the non-jw side of the family, so i don't know much about him, except that he is retired and his hobby is sailing his boat.. i don't have contact details for his kids etc to ask them for ideas, so could you come up with something please ?

  not too extravagant, i am a poor pensioner !

  but, it is his 70th.. thanks in advance for any tips !.

  This is how I know many inside are on to the WTBTS' bull: In the Spanish side, all graduating from high school are moving on to college, even if online. Immigrant parents cannot afford to have kids as worse off as they are.

  There are even a few elders that encourage kids to obtain a college education.

  Any young lurker, please, as much as possible, get educated. At the very least, a bachelor's degree.

  create a superhuman character performing amazing feats, make him speak very good proverbs and parables which find easy acceptance among people, thus make him an authority on spirituality, and then make him speak business: become rich through improper means (luke 16:1-12) and avoid going into hell by sharing a portion of the ill-gotten wealth to the poor (mathew 25:31-46; contrast luke 16:19-31) which resulted in many orphanages and similar institutions coming into existence with the rich sponsoring them and the management living in luxury while working on behalf of the poor.
